E-Waste in California

With the power of electronic and print media, the world has become a global village and we are well aware of even those things that are happening in some distant corner of world. We all have heard a lot about environmental issues and how technological advancements are affecting the atmosphere. For us, the issue of excessive e-waste is not a new one. A few decades back, we knew that the e-waste will be occupying numerous landfills if we don’t do anything about that. Yet, we failed to control the amount of annual waste that is thrown away in landfills.

California Electronic Waste Recycling Act
emphasizes that the use of hazardous substances should be reduced in electronic devices. Government is working hard to control electronic hazardous waste but taking corrective actions in not just the responsibility of government. Up to some extent, every person that is using some electronic device is responsible for this disastrous situation of waste. It might seem shocking, but it a fact that our habit of throwing off old electronics that are working fine, just to buy a newer version has contributed a lot in landfills.

Similar thing is done by organizations and companies. When some electronic device has completed its estimated life, it is thrown away to buy a latest version even if it is working fine.

To make this easier, numerous electronic waste recycling companies are offering free e-waste pickup service in all over California. Being a responsible citizen, it is our duty to dispose of all e-waste in a proper manner.
